Warrington man proves it's cheaper to fly to London than to drive

A Warrington man decided to fly to London rather than drive, to see if it was cheaper

Oliver Bulezuik had to get to a meeting in West Sussex last week, and instead of driving the 230 mile journey, he made a bold decision - to fly there instead.

Oliver documented the journey on his YouTube channel, to highlight how much cheaper and time-effective it was to fly down to the capital than to drive.

The Warrington resident broke down his costs throughout the day, covering fuel to get to the train station, train tickets, and of course his flight costs - totalling £84.63.

This included RyanAir flights from Manchester to Dublin, and Dublin to London, which set Mr Bulezuik back by £15.99.

On the other hand, Oliver worked out that the cost of fuel to get down to Gatwick and back via car would've come to £108.42 - which includes the price of the M6 toll in order to avoid traffic in Birmingham.

Oliver factored in the motoring costs of getting down to London

Oliver factored in how much time it would take to make the journey by car, too, and he came to the conclusion that it would take four-and-a-half hours to get down to his destination.

The return trip, not including traffic, would take nine hours in total - whereas the time it took him to fly from Manchester-Dublin, Dublin-Gatwick, Gatwick-Manchester was five hours and 10 minutes overall.

By the end of the day, Oliver worked out that he saved almost four hours, and nearly £20, just by flying down to London rather than driving.
