    Are there actually people crazy enough to pay that much for a drop of uisce beatha (translation: water of life)?

    Apparently so .............  According to this:
    10 Most Expensive Whiskies in the World

    The most expensive whiskies in the world cost between $10,000 and $630,000. Bottles of whiskey from $1 million to $7 million have been reported, but the catch is that one is encrusted with diamonds and the other is an April Fool’s joke.

    The table below lists the ten most expensive whiskies in the world. The second most precious is a 64 year old Macallan in Lalique Cire Perdue crystal. The scotch was laid down in 1942 at the height of the second World War. The list includes four other Macallan vintages, two Glenfiddich and two Dalmore.

    At £50,000 a bottle, I wonder how many of their customers would have liked to order half a dozen?

    It must taste absolutely wonderful, though I don't suppose any of us here will ever get a drop past our lips.

    Some people count in billions like we count in tens. I hope they use some of their vast wealth to help those in need and don't just spend their money to spoil and pamper themselves.
