A Russian Blue living next door
was best cat around the dance floor
with a cute Persian kitten
very soon he was smitten
now the two tango forevermore.

A tabby sitting up on a fence
saw a lad bend to pick up ten pence
but a bike knocked him down
he got up with a frown
Tabby thought: "Why are humans so dense?"

A Siamese called Winky Woo
Was psychic so what did he do?
He told next door's cat
He saw Death on the mat
But who's? He hadn't a clue!

This was so frightening and scary
They both became very wary
They padded about
Plagued by terror and doubt
Even prayed to the good Virgin Mary.

That lady, she entered their house
Gently carried a tiny dead mouse
Which she laid on the rug
With a satisfied shrug
Where the felines now play and carouse.

With a hiss, a long yowl and a scratch,
the stray cat laid a claim to 'his' patch
inside our garden shed
with a crate for his bed,
now we daren't even lift up the latch.

Lost was the poor tabby tom
Lonely and far from his home
But a boy on a bus
Shouted," Look! There is Gus!"
Told him,"Gus,now no more must you roam."
He picked him up in his sheltering arms
Kept him cosy and safe from all harm
Till soon he was back
With his pals, Jill and Jack
Playing gleefully in the old barn.
