Petition from '38 Degrees'.
I know what I think ...
If you have strong views about it either way, you have the chance here to have your say and for that to be heard. '38 Degrees' petitions historically have a huge influence on many issues decided on a parliamentary level - issues that are importance to us. This is an issue that is important not only to people in Syria or here in the UK - but actually to every single individual the whole world over.
'38' Degrees doesn't just talk; they listen ... and they act - and the government of this country listens to them.
So, whatever your thoughts might be on this issue, please voice them and let them be known!
Here is the question, the results of which will be set before Parliament. All you have to do is tick one out of 3 boxes:

Should we drop bombs in Syria? Our MPs are likely to vote this week on this huge question of war or peace. [1] So if we want to influence how they vote, it’s urgent that we act now.
38 Degrees belongs to all of us. Every 38 Degrees member gets a say in what we do together. So please can you take a quick survey to help decide if 38 Degrees should respond to the situation in Syria? Click your choice from the options below to get started.
Do you think the UK should join airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria?
YES - https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/surveys/syria-full-list-survey-yes?utm_source=38degrees&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=
NO - https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/surveys/syria-full-list-survey-no?utm_source=38degrees&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=
DON'T KNOW - https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/surveys/syria-full-list-survey-dont-know-real?utm_source=38degrees&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=
You don't need to be an expert - just say what you think. Once you’ve voted, you’ll have the chance to answer some more detailed questions about what (if anything) 38 Degrees should be doing to campaign on this issue.
So far, 38 Degrees members have been in touch with a variety of views. For example:
“No indiscriminate airstrikes bombing innocent people. (...) Focus on helping people who ask for help. Help refugees. Don't pick sides.” Conor
“I support the bombing. ISIS is such a perverted ideology that there is no point at all in any sort of dialogue with them.” Robert
"I honestly don't know but don't feel more violence is the answer if it can be avoided." Jackie
What do you think? Should the UK join airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria?
The decision about whether Britain should get involved in a war is huge - and has implications for all of us. When MPs last voted on bombing Syria, in August 2013, it was extremely close - and military action was blocked. [2] On that occasion many MPs said that public pressure influenced their decision. So we know that any campaigning we do could have a big impact.
The situation in Syria is complicated. There are decent, moral arguments to be made both for and against bombing. Deciding a 38 Degrees position may not be easy! But only one group of people are qualified to make this decision: the 38 Degrees membership, including you.
So please get involved. To get started, click to answer this question: should the UK join airstrikes in Syria?
Thanks for being involved,
David, Maddy, Rachel and the 38 Degrees team
