In that case, out of all those listed above, there haven't been any notifications for you - since the new toolbar started. When I logged in just now, there was a little (4) beside the 'Notifications' up in the top right-hand corner of the board. When I clicked in there, it listed out

Where it says 'watched topic' up there, it's actually a link to the topic and the post that's been made, so I just click into it and voila.
But there could be other posts made in a topic that you may not have marked as 'watching' though, in which case the flashing red 'new' notification will direct you to where they are.
If you click into where it says 'Welcome [whatever your name is], you can see at a glance all your watched topics, all your posts and lots more. So, if you are not currently 'watching' any topics at the moment Whiskers, you can mark them 'watching' while you're in now - and next time you come in, if there have been any new posts to those topics - they should show as Notifications.
The other options still work on the forum just like they used to, alongside this new toolbar, so it just means that you have more choices about how you use the forum.
