I hope everyone is safe from the rages of Ophelia. Not forgetting the poor frightened animals too. xx
Hearing all the stories here. 3 people have died so far in Ireland with trees hitting cars. Can't for the life of me understand why anyone would venture out in a car in a hurricane!!!
A really strange golden hue in the atmosphere here in London. And a weird but slightly familiar smell in the air - reminds me of just before a sandstorm in Libya.

Same to you, Stardust.
Hope you're enjoying the hols.

I'm having what some might call a 'pipe n slippers' Easter holiday. Lounging around, enjoying the rest from hectic workaday life ... stuffing meself with chokkie easter eggs and enjoying the garden and this gorgeous weather - though not too much sun out there now cos when I first moved here 12 years ago the garden was just grass, nothing else. I started from scratch - literally, created my first flower bed out there, armed only with a dessert spoon, a twig and a toasting fork. Then went on to plant some shrubs and most importantly (I thought) some trees! It's only a small garden, and now I have some beautiful fully grown trees out there, couple of cherry blossoms, a tree that produces hoards of baby plums(!) which the birds really enjoy - don't even remember planting that! and some others which I can't put a name to. I also created what I call my Arboury, a little shady nook in a corner right down the end, my own little secret garden, where I've trained some ivy to go across and form a canopy over a wooden bench Plenty of shade out there now. The sun now manages to come in in tiny little patches here and there at different times of the day, so I have to keep moving around following the patches through the day to get any benefit. Rolling Eyes
Bit like the nursery rhyme - Round and round the garden like a teddybear, one step, two step - oooh patch o' sun over there. sunny
