Stardust on the Moon
Sunshine, digging Spring clothes out of their wardrobe prison, Summer is on the horizon.
Mustn't forget to put the clocks forward on Saturday night.
What an auspicious day to start a new blog thread, beautifully warm and welcoming.
Leaving work early today. We'll sit at a café terrace slowly sipping Schweppe's tonic water and watching the world go by.

Bought a packet of those tiny little chocolate eggs.
They're very good if you're watching your weight.
Why?
Because it takes such a b..... long time to find the seam or edge where you can catch the foil wrapper to peel it off!
Going nuts here...

The blog section has gone weird
but looks like it still works.
Sprayed pure essential oils round the office this morning, smells lovely in here.

Re: Stardust on the Moon
I'm still not sure if I have this section set up properly. Stardust, you seem to be posting in the 'Comments' section of your first Blog now, but on a different subject, rather than a new subject on a different day. That's why the extra posts look smaller, because they are actually the comments - which I think others can post use, to comment on your blog of the day (?)
I suppose trial and error will get us there.... eventually.
ETA: Think maybe when you go to blog on another topic - different day, you need to click 'NEW TOPIC' rather than 'REPLY'. (?)

Testing options
Okey-Dokey, I'll try that, Kitkat, though it seems a strange way of going about it.

----------------
Added to post later:
Well I tried 'New Topic' instead of 'Reply' but it posted up as a new blog, Kitkat, so I deleted it.
I tried adding a post title but that made no difference either.
But it looks good like this, doesn't it? Probably takes up less room too?
----------------
We have real April weather here, sunshine one minute and showers the next.
Still peeling away at the wee choccie eggs, even though I have help 'disposing' of them.
Everyone knows chocolate goes well with orange but it's great with cranberry juice too.

Escape from 7-years bad luck
Dropped a double-sided (back-to-back) mirror on the floor yesterday.
But luckily only the support broke into several pieces, both mirrors remained intact. Phew!

Script ?
Keep getting messages whereby a script on this site is slowing down Adobe Flash Player on my computer. I wouldn't mind if it was only once when I log-in, but it pops up at regular intervals and is driving me quietly potty.

Hi Kitkat.
It started a little while back, I think when this new forum was set up, or thereabouts, but it also happens on LAL too (which it didn't previously). That could just be coincidence though.
It could have happened after one of my computer updates, or lack of. It's one of those lovely old Macs that puts their tongue out at you and swivels, but it's unable to accept all updates because it doesn't have Intel inside. I'm very fond of it but I can't install Snow Leopard, for instance, so obviously things are going to start getting complicated soon as theres a new version (Lion, I think) and my poor computer already feels left out. We'll have to get a brand new companion in the near future but this model was unique, the new ones are static.

Okay, I know what you mean now. I have had that once or twice before. I have an idea it may be connected with the Spiritlove widget running the latest activity there. Seems even more likely when you say it happens on LAL too, as there's a similar widget there. (May possibly be when it gets a bit "heated" over on SL
)

Hmmm ... I think I've sourced the problem now. It's quite possible that it may be something to do with the 'new post' image - the tail-wagging, miaowing cat (or is it a fox?). Only seems to be happening when new posts are made here. I think I'm going to have to change it.

Paper sorting yesterday. Took hours.
Not the way I'd planned to spend my free Monday.
At least this will be a short working week though, that's some comfort.

Even shorter for us.
We've got Friday off as a Bank Holiday too ('the royal wedding").

It was very cold on the way to work this morning, but now I've got the sun reflected off a window opposite straight into my eyes. Seeing the computer screen through a haze... have to wait a wee while...
Ah, that's better, no more reflection.
Just heard on the radio that there will be trees lining the aisle in Westminster Abbey for 'The' wedding. Whatever next? I can keep an eye on the action live via internet, Kiit-Kat.

I'm looking forward to the royal wedding. Too many folk in my home area are anti royal. I think it's almost become a fashion. To me, they are simply two young people with all the usual hopes and dreams-which can go sadly wrong for them as well as the rest of us.A toast to William and Kate---

Bit of an anti-royalist myself ... I will be making the most of the day off ... lots of things to do ... but no interest whatsoever in this wedding.

I love the Royal Family, have done since a child, and all the pageantry, glitter and sparkles, uniforms, Prince Charles' ecological views, the gorgeous dresses and hats, horse-drawn coaches, beautiful cars. I love it all.

Didn't see the wedding direct because I was working but caught the highlights later. That dress was oh so lovely. Alexander McQueen would have been proud.

Butterfly
A beautiful red/brown butterfly came and rested awhile on my open window this morning, it's wing movements catching my eye or I might have missed it. I watched this bright little creature for several lovely peaceful minutes, until it flew up and away into the sunny blue sky. I felt I'd been given a blessing.

It hasn't reached us yet, Feather, though I was thinking yesterday that you were probably underneath it.

Another allergic attack
Got another allergy. Damn and blast!
I don't know what caused it this time either, but it's a pain.
I never used to be allergic to anything - no allergies at all.
Then it started...
First, as an adult, I had an extreme allergic reaction to penicillin,
then gradually some pollens, dust, feathers, creams and shampoos
decided to join the club too, then it was certain fruits...
Where will it all end!?!
The worst is when I can't pinpoint the origin,
because then of course I can't eliminate or avoid it.

Re: Stardust on the Moon
Sorry to learn about your allergies, Stardust. I also became allergic to penicillin in adulthood. I am allergic to sticky bandages too. You could look up the commonest allergies and see if you have come in contact with any of them recently. Doctors can do tests but I think it's a long process as there are so many products which could be the culprit.

Re: Stardust on the Moon
Hi Feather.
So we have an allergy to penicillin in common too.
I can usually pinpoint myself where the allergy came from. It's annoying when something eaten for years, like certain fruits (even peeled), suddenly provokes an allergy (probably pesticides to blame).
Seems like most of our food is polluted these days by one thing or another.

Re: Stardust on the Moon
Is that strange, all three of us? Or are there more people allergic to penicillin than I thought?
So now we're officially a club.
Walking to the bus stop passed workers siphoning the drains, the smell was ghastly!!!
Now it seems impregnated in my nose and I can't get rid of it.
Yuk!!!
Have some essential oil spray so I'll try that, hope it does the trick.

Something good will happen today, I can feel it.
Halfway through 2011 already - time is speeding up.
The media are starting to talk/write more and more about December 2012 being the end of the World. Cheerful lot, the media people, always something to brighten our days (NOT!).
Nobody else in the office today - I can play Bollywood music to my heart's delight while I work.
Life is so sweet sometimes.

Don't you just love all the new technology and other stuff. Progress is wonderful.
Running a razor under the tap this morning I cut my finger, so instead of one cut I have three parallel ones from the marvellous new three-blade razor. Thought it would never stop bleeding!
Ever tried to type quickly with a plaster on your index finger? It's not easy!

Bastille Day
We have the day off on Thursday (July 14th) and the troops have been practicing their march down the Champs Elysees; there was even a mock fly-past. Weather forecast is fine but not too hot so they'll be grateful for that.
A good deal of fun on the agenda. Lots of local picnics and parties, dances arranged at the fire stations (traditional), fireworks, and more fireworks.
Everyone will burst with pride and a good time will be had by all.

Happy Bastille Day, Stardust.
I hope you enjoy your day off and all the celebrations.
(Slightly different "celebration" marches in Northern Ireland yesterday - 12th July)
Every year heralds trouble on that occasion.

Lots of rain and cold the last couple of weeks and no end in sight yet.
Supposed to be Summer ...
Everything concerning the weather and Nature in general seems to be going haywire.
I'll take a look at the exhibitions and museum programme later and see what's on indoors.
I like the sound of the rain pattering on the bus roof though, and on the canopy of tree branches in the park.
There's always something positive if you look for it.

My kind of weather. I love the day-to-day unpredictability of it here in the UK.
I once spent a day in Glencoe, Scotland where we experienced the four seasons all in the same day. Brilliant.

Glencoe looks very mysterious with purple mountains and clouds and brooding darkness even when the sun shines.
Visitors can appreciate the whisky and absorb the atmosphere.
